One of the easiest ways to get involved with the Atlanta film industry is to attend meetings hosted within the community. These events provide opportunities to meet local filmmakers, learn about the different areas of the industry and collaborate with other creatives. The following networking events are FREE, open to the public and provide options to test the waters of the film industry prior to diving in and investing additional time and money.
Eat, Drink and B-Indie
Eat, Drink and B-Indie (EDBI) is a casual evening of networking, panel discussions, guest speakers, new equipment demos and more. The Atlanta Film Society hosts these meetings on the third Tuesday of every month from 7:30PM-9:30PM at Manuel’s Tavern.
Atlanta Black List Happy Hour

AIGA ATL (American Institute of Graphic Arts) hosts a monthly Buzz Happy Hour for both members and non-members to connect and relax for some laid-back networking and friendly conversation. Their creative community includes artists, writers, illustrators, developers, photographers, marketers, IT specialists, business owners and freelancers. Film Bar Mondays
Film Bar Mondays is a unique event in that it is NOT for networking, hence the three rules: No Business Cards, No Headshots, No Desperation. The vision is to create a space for people to build relationships over time by hosting a weekly gathering of crew, filmmakers, animators, actors, film lovers, and those who just want to hang with creatives at local bars.
